Would you say moving to California is a very difficult thing to do? I've been wanting to move out there for years, but when I tell people that I plan to move there all I get is negative feedback. How much would you recommend having saved before attempting to move there? And you don't have to answer this, but have you been able to take care of yourself pretty much? Or has your family helped you out a little bit here and there? Thanks so much for your time. Sorry for all of the questions at once too!

I’m not going to say it is an easy thing, but it is do-able, just like any move is. People put too much emphasis on how “crazy” California is. If you go about it the right way, it isn’t THAT expensive. If you want to do it, do it .. don’t make excuses, and don’t listen to anyone else because when it comes down to it they are just probably jealous. My mom helped me out here and there, still does sometimes, but the minimum wage here is high, because of the higher cost of living. When I first moved here I shared a tiny one bedroom place with 2 other girls, and yes it was crammed and we didn’t have a lot of personal space … but it was so much fun and saved us a lot of money. I recommend saving as much as you can, but don’t make that a priority because you will get into the routine of it and never actually move, I’ve seen it a million times. I can’t tell you how many people I know who want to move out of wherever they are living, and come up with excuse after excuse about how they can’t do it right now. Do you think I was rolling in dough at 20 yrs old when I picked up and moved across the country? Was I mentally stable and had my life totally figured out ? HELL no .. but I knew if I didn’t do it right then and there, I would never end up actually moving. If you really want something bad enough, nothing will stop you… so just do it!

#life is hard

December 2010

20 Things I did In 2010

1) Got to go to my first Laker game as an adult, and it was a buzzer beater :)

2) Trespassed onto my old farm with friends & was kicked out, not before sinking into muddy wholes though.

3) Said hello to the last season of LOST (and then a very emotional goodbye)

4) Trips to Nashville, New York, Florida, Jersey.

5) Lost a good friend to a car accident .. Miss you Raider <3

6) Saw one of my favorite bands play their entire self-titled album the whole way through.

7) Got to finally walk around in Memphis, TN and dance on the bar at Cayote Ugly.

8) Helped a best friend through the hardest thing she has ever, or will ever go through.

9) Vegas trip with some amazing people, made amazing memories.

10) LAKERS WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP

11) Moved into a gingerbread coffin

12) Made an interesting, loving, crazy group of solid friends

13) Went through one of the hardest, emotionally draining, painful experiences of my life, and made it out alive.

14) Lost myself in an unhealthy relationship, that I now see was very toxic.

15) turned 23

16) Saw a tragic death happen before my eyes, and am slowly getting over it.

17) Went on my first reality tv audition, and nailed it.

18) Grew an even stronger backbone

19) Made some life changing choices, that will not yet be taken into action till 2011.

20) Quit my job at urban, and got a job at Allsaints.

All this little project did was make 2010 seem like it was a week long .. this year went by SO fast.
